Dead man asked to save lives

The Assistant District Officer (ADO) Zafar Mir, who had died about six months back, was named to serve in one of the 16 sectors made under the Flood Relief Programme (FRP) by the District Officer-Revenue (DO-R) Malik Muhammad Bux.
Prior to his demise, ADO-Sanitation Zafar Mir was working in the Solid Waste Management of Data Ganj Bux Town. But in the recently instituted 16-sectors plan, his name was included in one of the sectors.
According to DO-R Malik Muhammad Bux, the sectors were made a few months back, and the lists of the employees were provided by various departments, which included LESCO, WASA, WAPDA, Health, Livestock, Revenue, Solid Waste Management and Social Welfare. "No doubt, a lot of people would have been transferred or had even died. Zafar Mir was such a case. It was a mistake for sure. We have rectified the lists even today," he said.
When contacted, the District Officer-Solid Waste Management Muhammad Rafique Jatoi confirmed that Zafar Mir had died about six months back and the correction has been made.
