Nation urged to conduct stock taking of deeds

President Muttahida Majlas-e-Amal and Ameer Jama’at-e-Islami Qazi Hussain Ahmad has asked the nation to take stock of its practices and change them in the light of severe reprimand from the Almighty in shape of earthquake.
Qazi asked the people to seek repentance of their sins from Allah, and shun those practices that violate Allah’s injunctions and invoke His anger.
In a statement Monday, Qazi particularly asked the government to evaluate its deeds and fulfil the requirements of rule in the light of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. Qazi severely lashed out at the obscenity being propagated, particularly through electronic media under, official patronisation and demanded its immediate closure. He expressed sorrow that rulers remained contented with just three days mourning which meant nothing after such a large calamity. He said rulers must stop violation and ridicule of Allah’s injunctions and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in order to seek true repentance.
Qazi said if we sincerely review our society, we find all kinds of sins and crimes in it, particularly the grave sins like murder, obscenity, adultery, adulteration, bribery, falsehood, burglary etc. which brought destruction to earlier nations. "On the other hand, rulers are indulged into plundering the people through unjust taxes and price hike of essential items like fuel and edibles. People are being crushed under price hike while ruling elite is prospering at their cost. Music and dance shows are held under government patronage and the President himself dance with them to invite wrath," he added. "Not only that, the president invites the people to rebel against Allah’s injunctions like that and insist them not to listen to those who criticise such programmes by dubbing them as ‘backward and snatchers of public happiness,’" he maintained.
Qazi said the heartbreaking scenes of quake devastation were enough to shake everyone with faith and conscience. "We must offer repentance on our sins, mend our ways and reach out for the victims in this hour of trial," said Qazi. He said every virtue is multiplied in this holy month of Ramadan therefore we must cut down our own expenses to provide relief to our brothers in trouble.
